In 2002, Joseph A, Gagliardo joined the Mission Hospital Imaging Services department, as a Director and was promoted to Executive Director of Imaging Services and Innovative Technologies. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring that Mission Hospital has the most technologically advanced diagnostic imaging equipment available to the community. He has been instrumental in the recruitment of highly specialized radiologists and radiologic technologists who provide the medical expertise necessary to ensure each patient has the highest level of care. Prior to joining Mission Hospital, Gagliardo was the Administrative Director and Imaging Health System Specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs in La Jolla, California. There he had oversight of five hospitals in the Veterans Integrated Service Network 22 (VISN 22), with direct responsibility for the Veterans Affairs San Diego Medical Center in La Jolla and two community based outpatient clinics. He received both his bachelor’s in Business Management and his master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Some of his early studies include time spent at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at Heidelberg University in Germany and an internship with the Brookhaven National Laboratory where he studied under Raymond V. Damadian, M.D., whose research is credited as the basis for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). He is currently a fellow of California Health Leadership College in Berkeley California. Gagliardo has received many awards and recognitions, including a U.S. Army Commendation Medal and the Veterans Administration Distinguished Student Award. He has also maintained certifications with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in both Diagnostic Radiology and Computerized Axial Tomography. Gagliardo lives in south Orange County and enjoys traveling, fishing and spending time with his family.


Jennifer Anderson Bio:
With more than 6 years of experience in breast health, Jennifer Anderson joined in 2004 as the Breast Health Services Coordinator with the Mission Women’s Wellness Centern at Mission Hospital. There she oversees patient services, community outreach, research, community grant projects, and program development. As part of her role, she collaborates with other organizations, such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The Wellness Community, Breast Cancer Network of Strength, and Team Survivor to provide integrated services to women in south Orange County. Prior to joining Mission Hospital, Jennifer was the Breast Cancer Patient Navigator for the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. She was responsible for connecting uninsured women with the resources to obtain breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, treatment and support services. Anderson received a bachelor’s degree in both Communication and Sociology from the University of Southern California, and her master’s in Health Communication from San Diego State University. Outside of her normal work duties, she spends time volunteering with breast cancer organizations, including Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Breast Cancer Survivors (BCS), the Orange County Breast Cancer Coalition, and American Cancer Society (ACS). She has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognition including the 2005 Ultimate Hero Award from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Orange County Affiliate and the 2008 Outstanding Breast Health Advocate Award from Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Anderson resides in Lake Forest with her husband and twin girls. She enjoys long-distance running, triathlons, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
