Mark Andrew Wohlgemuth, M.D., has been practicing medicine at Mission Hospital since 1984. His areas of interest are adult head and neck oncology, endocrine surgery and sinus disease. He has a subspecialty interest in snoring and sleep disorders. During his tenure with Mission Hospital, Wohlgemuth has served an impressive number of important roles such as Otolaryngology Section Chief, Secretary Treasurer of Medical Staff, and Chief of Staff. He has also been chairman of the hospital’s Credentials Committee, By Laws Committee and Palliative Care Committee, and has served as a member of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Wohlgemuth has received numerous awards, including the Values in Action Award from Mission Hospital and the St. Joseph Health System for “Dignity” in 2005. The Values in Action Awards honor four clinical and/or nonclinical individuals who each embody one of Mission Hospital’s four core values of Dignity, Service, Excellence and Justice. In 2000 and 2002, Dr. Wohlgemuth was named one of the “Top Doctors in Orange County” by Orange Coast Magazine. He currently belongs to several professional societies, such as the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and the American Sleep Disorders Association. He is also past president of the Paul H. Ward Society in at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Division of Head & Neck Surgery, having served as president in 2005 and 2006.
